No Wireless in Paradise.
Behold the horror that unfolds whenever I attempted a layout that is even remotely creative.
In the words of Katy Perry, "that was such an epic fail".
The kids and I just returned from a trip to my parents home on the shores of beautiful Lake Sacandaga. Meanwhile husband was in Oak Harbor, WA attending his 30th HS reunion. He had our camera, I had a cell phone with a camera and as you can see I've mastered the grainy phone pic effect.
There is no cell service where my parents live, and Internet and is moody to say the least. So I found myself without wireless, and it was pretty darn great.
*Eating breakfast, reading a book, doing just about everything overlooking the lake
*Teaching the kids how to find clay in the lake and seeing what they make with it
*Seeing my kids do all the things I did up there as a kid, and enjoying it just as much
*Watching my Dad give his grandson his first golf cart ride at the lake
*Discovering my daughter has a knack for frog hunting
*Watching the news with my parents, and getting a kick out of how fired up they still get about politics.
*Kreme Freeze (the world best hot fudge)
*Dad's stellar bar tending skills
*Cocktail cruise on the lake, complete with my son driving the boat
*The camp ritual of washing dishes
*Trees lining the opposite shore, climbing virtually unspoiled to the peaks of the mountains
Now I've got to scoot off to my kids camp talent show. Talk to y'all next week.
...Whoops, almost forgot the Friday-five-things-I'm-happy-about-at-this-moment.
*My awesome parents.
*That I've actually already purchased most of my kids back to school supplies, thanks to the insanely clean Walmart in Amsterdam, NY.
*That Derek Jeter plays for my team.
*That my frig is full.
*Saturday at the beer garden.
