One can probably count on one hand the number of people who live in New York City, read or write blogs, and aren't regular followers of the blogging empire known as Apartment Therapy.
Started in 2007 by Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan, it struck a chord as a lone decor blog for the under 1500 sq. ft. crowd. Maxwell provided exhaustive details on everything an apartment dweller could possibly want or need to know about small space living. For a while he was posting three and four times DAILY until he realized no one else was and figured he'd spin off a few specialized sites from Apartment Therapy, find some talented folks to run those, and manage to get a few hours of sleep.
One of those spin offs is called Re-Nest. The emphasis is on green living. This week they posted, actually re-posted, a genius four-part series entitled How to Prepare Your Home for the Holidays. It's so easy to get sidetracked during the holidays and then panic, so this is a great resource for keeping on top of things that should be done in preparation for the holidays and stay that much saner this year.
