The Royal Family - A Shiny, New Kingdom

The Contessa is now at tail end of ten, and changes are coming fast and furious.  Two of the most ominous are her oily skin and oily hair.  A shower every other night is mandatory, but that alone cannot vanquish the oilies.  Reinforcements for both the hair and the skin are needed.

For the hair.

This was initially purchased as part of our Hurricane Irene preparedness kit.  It turns out to do a pretty good job banishing the oily look if it gets bad in between washings.  You can get it at most drug stores for between $5.00 and $7.00.

For the skin.

The bumps started some time last spring.  This was worrisome to the Kingdom, as we knew that whilst puberty is a wondrous time indeed, pre-pubescent pimples, not so much.  They couldn't even be called pimples, they were really just bumps, but the Kingdom could see where things were headed and wanted to make efforts to nip the bumps in the bud.

Most skincare products made for oily skin are totally inappropriate for young skin.  The Kingdom turned to the Royal Pharmacist, who recommended Stridex pads.  Go. Buy. Some.  They are alcohol free and have done wonders for the Contessa's complexion.  The Countess has even been known to use them on occasion.

So while her room is still a mess, and she needs to practice her piano more, for now she is keeping the oilies at bay.
